REHABLITATION CENTRE FOR BLIND
It is unique rehabilitation centre for
blinds which provides education and vocational studies for blind. It is managed
by National Association for the blinds, Mumbai. It is situated at East View,
Mount Abu. Education facility for the student is provided up to class VIII.
Afterwards it provides assistance to the students to pursue their higher
studies through distance mode. It is a boarding school which provides every
facility free of cost. Apart from providing education in mobility, it provides
vocational education such as candle making, weaving of cane furniture,
carpentry, book binding etc. 
It has one Digital Accessible Information
system for computer education which converts the data into voice mode and has a
system of navigation through contents of pages. It is a system for system of
screen reader software, where books are recorded and used by the blind.
This system has been introduced first time in
blind schools of India that to only in Mount Abu. It is the first and only
institute of its kind in Rajasthan which has published DAISY book. Presently it
has 30 students. It has recently added one more system of training for the
blinds in the form of Dhaba training, wherein the blind people are trained to
operate and run a dhaba. The chief mentor of the school is Dr. Arun Kumar
Sharma (Secretary). Dr.Vimal Kumar Denge the Principal who is also a blind
person and has the highest degrees with him viz. LLB, MA, PHD.
While visiting the schools recording
studio which has all the instrumental navigation system as compared to AR Rahman,
the legendary musician of India has, I have seen few paintings made by the
blind person depicting pictures of nature, moods and even a picture of Ex
President of U.S, Mr. Bill Clinton. These pictures depict that though
physically challenged; the blind people are never behind and can never lead
behind a normal person. It’s a unique institution of their kinds which is a
place for visit and donate for a good cause. People from all over the India and
world are welcome to donate for this school to support a good cause.
